Enjoy the holidays with awareness, focusing on balance, mindful eating, and avoiding guilt while embracing family time and joy.
Awareness
It’s my keyword.
These days, I finally unplugged from work, social media, and everything else. After an intense year, I needed it.
The Christmas season is the most beautiful and magical time of the year for both adults and children.
It’s a religious holiday, but above all, it’s a moment for sharing, peace, and calm.
We exchange gifts.
We exchange smiles and wishes.
We celebrate with family.
Christmas Holidays Experienced with Awareness
You also become a bit of a child again, and it’s a MAGICAL sensation.
A UNIQUE experience. One to be fully lived.
Because it only belongs to Christmas.
And, of course, we also eat more. And drink, too. And that’s okay.
Because food is also a pleasure.
Food is a connection. It’s togetherness.
Since birth, food is not just a means of survival; it also carries various meanings, including relational and social ones.
By “togetherness,” we mean the pleasure that comes from “being at the table with others.”
So, at Christmas (and the upcoming holidays), yes, we eat more, but that’s different from the concept of overeating!
Let’s use words correctly!
In the coming days, here’s a single piece of advice:
Ignore those profiles that give advice on “detox solutions,” “how to fix the Christmas feasts,” extreme fasting, or fruit-only dinners, and much more, almost making us feel guilty.
Don’t obsess over the scale! It makes no sense to consult it or feel bad after the holidays!
It’s Christmas once a year. It’s New Year’s once a year.
We’ve eaten just a little more. And that’s okay…
If you still feel heavy and your stomach is upset, you don’t need to do anything extreme.
Take this opportunity to:
- Get outside and move more. Even a longer walk when you go grocery shopping is enough.
- Walk and breathe fresh air instead of staying on the couch all the time.
- Drink water regularly, away from meals.
- Eat more green, bitter vegetables to best support the liver and the intestines.
And everything will return to normal.
With peace of mind.
